The Necessity of Corporate Work Culture in Indian Companies

 

The necessity and demand for nice corporate work culture have been raised in the last 5 - 10 years. Now since people are much aware of the corporate work culture and they wish or dream to work in such a culture. A large amount of talent pool denies being associated with such a company which doesn't have a nice corporate work culture. 

 


Work culture plays a vital role in the companies in terms of increasing their employee's productivity, maintaining the work environment, keeping their people managing their work-life and personal life balance, and providing job satisfaction to their employees. A nice corporate culture in companies keeps their employees much engaged in the work and happy with the job.

 

We know every business is a reflection of its culture. This is why most of the companies hire people from various cultures and encourage cultural exchange. 

 

There are many companies in India, which are still following traditional or orthodox work culture, which is an obstacle and also one of the major reasons for their saturation. That's why a nice corporate work culture is required to make the system more productive and also this helps to have a good name and reputation in the market.



 

Nowadays, companies and their leaders are trying to enforce Corporate work culture within their companies. That is something very innovative and a much-appreciated step taken by them. Companies leaders or its owners are demanding their employees to be more productive, more innovative but they fail to provide a nice work culture to them and also don't give them the freedom to innovate or work in new ways.

 

Companies are hiring senior management staff from the market to make the whole system more productive but they fail to allow them to even think differently and also to work in their own way.

 

All employees wish to work with companies which have a nice corporate culture, this is actually a tool used or shown by major companies and the recruiter but most of the companies just say this to attract deserving candidates but they don't have such.

 


Most of the companies in India are still lacking to provide the common benefits of corporate culture to their employees. 

 

In India, the huge problem with the companies is that the topmost authority thinks only for the companies sake and not for its people. 

 

the disadvantages of the orthodox companies not having nice work culture:

 

1. Employees are not engaged with the companies,

2. Rate of attrition becomes a major issue with the companies,

3. Employees become demotivated.

4. People tend to be unproductive & lethargic in the system.

5. People don't get job satisfaction.

 

How to turn the traditional work culture into corporate culture.

 

1. Give freedom to employees to work in their own way.

2. Provide flexible work timing

3. Adopt new systems, Technics to make them more updated

4. Provide them with all employment benefits.

5. Make employees more engaged by Employee Engagement activities.

 

Advantages to having a corporate culture in the companies.

 

1. Employees are much engaged,

2. Employees feel recognized,

3. Employees are much productive,

4. People see their future secure in the companies,

5. They will stay long, that will reduce the attrition rate.

 

What’s the edge the startups have over corporates? 

 

Startup promoters are quite confident about their employees and the work that they receive from their employees. According to their employees, startups are passion projects that are watered and seeded by all their team members. The survey conducted by the Human Resource Department from many leading organizations says that “That the Companies allow their employees to work even from home, with prior intimation. This has caused a lot of disruption in the traditional work culture as the employees now have a sense of ownership and flexibility to work for the best results. They are always ready to work.”-

In companies having a fun environment is very important but maintaining a workflow and adhering to KPIs are equally important to regulate the whole operation of the business. A workflow would keep each employee aware of their job role and also make things easy and efficient. While KPIs will analyze the success rate of the company based on business objectives. Working in a free-spirited atmosphere is good only if it’s productive. The business culture is changing in India, however, keeping a check over the business dynamics isn’t always a bad option to choose from.
